Regular Season Round 4: Granada - Leganes 64-66

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Leganes (2-0) edged on the road bottom-ranked Granada (0-2) 66-64 on Saturday. Leganes made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for point guard Paula Palomares (173-84) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. Point guard Isabel Latorre (170-96) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Trinidad and Tobago-Vincentian center Verdine Warner (194-92, college: Shaw) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Maria Blanco (-0, college: Mount Royal) added 15 points in the effort for Granada. Granada's coach Maribel Pinar tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Leganes moved-up to third place in Group B. Loser Granada still closes the standings with two games lost. Leganes will face league's second-placed Almeria at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Granada will play against UCAM Jairis (#8) in Alcantarilla and hopes to get finally their first victory.
