Regular Season Round 6: Pleszew - Miedzychod 104-114

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Pleszew (4-2) against sixth ranked Miedzychod (3-1) on Saturday night. Host Pleszew was defeated by Miedzychod in Pleszew 114-104. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Pleszew. Miedzychod looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for point guard Damian Szymczak (186-95) who led his team to a victory with 42 points (!!!) and 8 assists. The former international point guard Jaroslaw Kalinowski (177-79) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Swingman Grzegorz Malecki (195-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (180-88) added 23 points in the effort for Pleszew. Four Miedzychod and five Pleszew players scored in double figures. Miedzychod moved-up to second place, which they share with Koszalin Zak and MKS DG 2. Loser Pleszew keeps the third position with two games lost. Miedzychod will face Slask 3 (#8) in Wroclaw in the next round where they are favorite. Pleszew will play on the road against Tarnovia (#7) in Tarnowo Podgorne and hope to win that game.
