Undefeated leader Perfumerias Avenida delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Gernika (5-4) 72-64 in Salamanca. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gernika. It was a good game for American swingman Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: UConn) who led her team to a victory with 7 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American-British swingman Katie Samuelson (190-97, college: UConn, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Perfumerias Avenida players scored in double figures. American swingman Angie Bjorklund (183-89, college: Tennessee) answered with 18 points and the former international center Nogaye Lo-Sylla (192-96) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gernika. Gernika's coach Mario Lopez rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Perfumerias Avenida (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row, which they share with Valencia. Gernika at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will play against Gran Canaria (#13) in Las Palmas in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gernika will play at home against ASEFA Estudiantes (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
