Korisliiga top team - Espoo Team (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Torpan Pojat (2-3) in Helsinki 96-69. The game without a history. Espoo Team led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Torpan Pojat's 32. Espoo Team forced 25 Torpan Pojat turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward Hannah Little (186-94, college: Oakland) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners and her fellow American import swingman Morgan Batey (180-94, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Areus Sports) chipped in 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Nea-Paula Kuisma (183-99) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Ida Myllyoja (180-96) scored 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Torpan Pojat's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Espoo Team have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record, which they share with PeKa. Torpan Pojat at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Espoo Team will play against Kouvottaret (#5) in Kouvola in the next round. Torpan Pojat's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena HBA-Marsky.
