Regular Season Round 5: A3 Basket - Alvik Basket 68-75

Damligan top team - Alvik Basket (5-0) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked A3 Basket (2-2) in Umea 75-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of A3 Basket. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Alvik Basket made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. International guard Klara Lundquist (173-99) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and the former international forward Elin Ljunggren (185-96) accounted for 18 points and 13 rebounds. German center Ama Degbeon (188-95, college: FSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and American point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively for A3 Basket in the defeat. A3 Basket's coach Jan Enjebo tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alvik Basket have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Loser A3 Basket keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Sodertalje and Hogsbo. Alvik Basket will meet at home league's second-placed IK Eos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. A3 Basket will play against Helsingborg (#11) and hope to secure a win.
