Regular Season Round 9: Titanes - Storm 82-74

LPB top team - Titanes (9-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Storm (3-6) in Barranquilla 82-74. They outrebounded Storm 48-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Titanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Dominican-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Tonny Trocha-Morelos (208-94, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican forward Jose Familia (201-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and Dominican forward Juan-Miguel Suero (196-93) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Titanes have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Storm lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Titanes' next round opponent will be Trigrillos (#3) in Medellin, which may be the game of the day. Storm will play on the road against Piratas (#8) in Bogota and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
