Not a big story in a game in Puerto Ordaz where Supersonicos were defeated by Gigantes 69-58 on Monday. Gigantes outrebounded Supersonicos 40-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Albert Arias (194-89) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. The former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 5 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Javinger Vargas (202-90) produced 13 points and the former international point guard Carlos Cedeno (193-85, college: Frank Phillips) added 6 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Supersonicos' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gigantes will meet Condores in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
