The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Unicaja as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group B. Unicaja defeated 6th ranked UCAM Jairis in Malaga 62-51. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Australian forward Geralynn Leaupepe (180) replied with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Mozambican guard Clitan De-Sousa (183-96, college: OK State) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for UCAM Jairis. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Unicaja have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. UCAM Jairis at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with Pozuelo and Picken Claret. UCAM Jairis will play next round against Granada trying to get back on the winning streak. Unicaja will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Melilla on the road.
