Regular Season Round 7: Parnu - Kalev/TLU 98-92
Date: November 3, 2020
Very expected game when 12th ranked Kalev/TLU (1-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Parnu (5-1) 98-92. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Parnu players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Mihkel Kirves (198-96) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Finnish point guard Edon Maxhuni (188-98, college: LBSU) accounted for 28 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side. Four Parnu players scored in double figures. American Brandis Raley-Ross (191-87, college: S.Carolina) came up with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Karl-Johan Lips (199-96) added 24 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Kalev/TLU in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Parnu moved-up to second place, which they share with Ventspils. Kalev/TLU lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. Parnu will play against Tartu (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kalev/TLU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn Kalev/Cramo.
