The game between closely ranked teams ended with Brillantes' (0-3) home loss to Llaneros (1-1) 48-56. Llaneros forced 21 Brillantes turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. The former international swingman Jorge Rondon (193-90) accounted for 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Swingman Raymond Rada (194-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Rodgel Perez (171-96) added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Brillantes in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Llaneros' next round opponent will be Cangrejeros (#5) in Maturin and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brillantes will play on the road against Guaiqueries (#4) in Porlamar and hope to get finally their first victory.
