Undefeated Burgos (0-1) recorded its first loss on the court of ninth ranked Melilla on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Melilla 93-88. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Alec Wintering (183-95, college: Portland) fired 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. Latvian guard Andris Misters (194-92, college: Jacksonville) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American Tyler Rawson (208-96, college: Utah) produced 15 points and 6 assists and Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-95) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Melilla (1-3) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Gold. Newly promoted Burgos still closes the standings with one game lost. Melilla will meet Leyma Basquet (#9) in the next round. Burgos will play against Ourense and hopes to get finally their first victory.
