Regular Season Round 7: LKS Lodz - AZS UW 76-72

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked LKS Lodz (4-2) beat at home 11th ranked AZS UW (1-5) 76-72 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. LKS Lodz made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Jacek Gwardecki (199-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Arkadiusz Swit (200-93) helped adding 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four LKS Lodz players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Hubert Stopierzynski (183-97) responded with 14 points and point guard Jakub Brandys (182-99) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. AZS UW's coach Konrad Budka rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for LKS Lodz. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. AZS UW lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with five games lost. LKS Lodz will face Zubry (#7) in Bialystok in the next round. AZS UW will play at home against Zubry (#7) and hope to win that game.
