Regular Season Round 11: Kawasaki BT - Ryukyu GK 65-79

The biggest surprise of round 11 took place in Kanagawa where guest Ryukyu GK (#1) beat lower ranked Toshiba Thunders (#4) by 14 points 79-65 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Toshiba Thunders 44-26 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) added 10 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK (9-2) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place, which they share with Chiba J. Defending champion Toshiba Thunders keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Alvark T.. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toshiba Thunders will play again at home against the league's leader Ryukyu GK (#1) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
