Regular Season Round 10: FE Nagoya - Yamagata 79-76

Seventh-ranked Yamagata (2-8) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked FE Nagoya (6-4) on Saturday. FE Nagoya managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected easier game. The game was dominated by American players. Center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Andrew Randall (198-90, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and forward Lance Goulbourne (203-89, college: Vanderbilt) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Yamagata players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FE Nagoya moved-up to second place, which they share with Fukuoka R. and Kumamoto V. Loser Yamagata dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. FE Nagoya will again meet at home Yamagata (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Yamagata will have a break next round.
