Regular Season Round 6: Bolzano AV - Faenza 48-74

Serie A2 top team - Faenza (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Bolzano AV (2-4) 74-48. Faenza dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Bolzano AV's 20. They outrebounded Bolzano AV 52-35 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Latvian power forward Liga Vente (190-91, college: Eckerd) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Arianna Meschi (170-97) supported her with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Even 16 points by Dutch point guard Karin Kuijt (170-90) did not help to save the game for Bolzano AV. Power forward Chiara Villarini (186-96) added 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Faenza maintains first position in A2 with 6-0 record. Newly promoted Bolzano AV dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Faenza will play against Umbertide (#5) at home in the next round. Bolzano AV will play against the league's second-placed San Salvatore (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
