Regular Season Round 7: Gniezno - Arka 2 76-75

Undefeated Arka 2 (2-1) recorded its first loss on the court of tenth ranked Gniezno. Visitors were edged by Gniezno 76-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Arka 2. Gniezno brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Arka 2 was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Daniel Kotwasinski (185-99) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Michal Szydlowski (197-87) accounted for 7 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Michal Lis (187-2) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Piotr Lis (186-1) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Arka 2 in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gniezno (2-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Politechnika Gd. and UR Krakow. Arka 2 at the other side keeps the fifth position with one game lost. Gniezno will play against AWFiS Gdynia (#10) at home in the next round. Arka 2 will play against Politechnika Gd. (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
