Regular Season Round 4: Diablos - Gladiadores 84-86

Important game to mention about took place in Caracas. Ninth ranked Gladiadores (2-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Diablos (1-3) 86-84 on Saturday evening. Gladiadores forced 19 Diablos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for forward Luis Maneiro (194-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). International power forward Eliezer Montano (206-91) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Osman Alvarez (174-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals and forward Angelo Cisneros (198-97) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Diablos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gladiadores moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cangrejeros. Loser Diablos dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Gladiadores will face higher ranked Llaneros (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Diablos will play against the league's leader Gigantes having rather not much hope for a victory.
