Very expected game in Dongguan where 14th ranked Blue Whales (3-6) were crushed by third ranked Guandong Tigers (8-1) 121-90 on Saturday. Guandong Tigers made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Blue Whales turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Blue Whales were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Jinyang Zhao (198-1) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Xinkai Wang (196-83) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Five Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Yuanyu Li (206-91) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Songwei Zhu (206-96) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 8-1 record having just three points less than leader Zhejiang GB. Loser Blue Whales keep the fourteenth place with six games lost. Guandong Tigers will face league's leader Golden Bulls in Hangzhou in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Blue Whales will play on the road against Loongs (#9) in Taiyuan and hope to win that game.
