Regular Season Round 7: Politechnika Gd. - AZS UMK 77-80

There was a surprise result in Gdansk where twelfth ranked AZS UMK (1-3) edged higher ranked Politechnika Gd. (2-3) 80-77 on Saturday. AZS UMK made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. AZS UMK outrebounded Politechnika Gd. 42-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Jakub Kondraciuk (191-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Krystian Mackiewicz (185-99) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. AZS UMK's coach Kamil Michalski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Adam Wasowicz (186-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Krystian Gladikowski (192-0) scored 15 points. AZS UMK left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Poznan and AWFiS Gdynia. It was Politechnika Gd.'s third loss in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. AZS UMK will face league's second-placed Koszalin Zak at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
