Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Almozara (0-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked Mataro (1-0) 88-73 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jordi Juanola (196-98) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and American power forward Amir Warnock (206-95, college: KWC) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Francisco Cobos (195-95) responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds and center Victor Alijarde (200-97) scored 13 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mataro keeps a position of Group C4 leader, which they share with Mollet and Quart. Loser Almozara still closes the standings with two games lost. Mataro will face Quart (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
