We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Matsuyama where seventh ranked Orange Vikings (2-8) defeated 6th ranked Tokyo Z (2-8) 67-57 on Saturday. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 27 rebounds for the winners. Yoshihiko Toshino (186-92) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: NSU) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!) and point guard Shun Watanuki (178-87) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Tokyo Z's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Orange Vikings moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Tokyo Z. Orange Vikings will face again Tokyo Z (#6) at home in the next round.
