Regular Season Round 6: Sodertalje - Helsingborg 81-50

Bottom-ranked Helsingborg (0-5) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to ninth ranked Sodertalje (3-2) 81-50 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Sodertalje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Helsingborg's 30. Sodertalje forced 20 Helsingborg turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Edessa Noyan (186-4) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Matilda Claesson (170-94) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Five Sodertalje players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Greek forward Vasiliki Louka (193-96, college: UNBC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Madeleine Hulth (179-97) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sodertalje moved-up to sixth place, which they share with A3 Basket and Hogsbo. Newly promoted Helsingborg still closes the standings with five games lost. Sodertalje will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Helsingborg will play against the league's second-placed IK Eos (#2) in Lund and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
