Very expected game when 9th ranked Hokkaido L. (3-9) was smashed by third ranked Chiba J. (10-2) in Saporro 92-73 on Sunday. Chiba J. outrebounded Hokkaido L. 41-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Chiba J. players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Nakano Tsukasa (184-96) added 22 points in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba J. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toyama G. and Ryukyu GK. Hokkaido L. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Chiba J. will face Toshiba Thunders (#6) in Kanagawa in the next round where they are favorite. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against Yokohama BC and hope to win that game.
