Regular Season Round 11: FE Nagoya - Yamagata 65-63

Seventh-ranked Yamagata (2-9) was very close to win a game against second ranked FE Nagoya (7-4) on Sunday. FE Nagoya managed to secure only two-point victory 65-63. However their fans expected much easier game. FE Nagoya outrebounded Yamagata 35-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Point guard Seiji Kouno (172-89) came up with 12 points and 9 assists and American forward Andrew Randall (198-90, college: Temple) added 17 points respectively for Yamagata in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. FE Nagoya maintains second place with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Saga B., which they share with 3 other teams. Yamagata lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Kagawa FA and Tokyo Z. FE Nagoya will meet at home Nishinomiya S. (#5) in the next round. Yamagata will play against Rizing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
