Regular Season Round 7: Tarn.Gory - Polonia Bytom 68-90

The game between closely ranked teams ended with leader Polonia Bytom's (6-0) road victory over 3rd placed Tarn.Gory (4-2) 90-68 on Sunday. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Tarn.Gory's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Wojciech Leszczynski (190-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side forward Aleksander Maslanka (197-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Bartlomiej Wroblewski (181-92) scored 19 points. Four Tarn.Gory players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Polonia Bytom. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Rydzyna and AZS AGH KR. Loser Tarn.Gory keeps the third place with two games lost. Polonia Bytom will face Gliwice 2 (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tarn.Gory will play against Bielsko-Biala (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
