Quite upsetting was Braunschweig's 28-point home defeat in a game versus EWE Baskets who smashed hosts They made 31-of-35 free shots (88.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Nathan Boothe (206-94, college: Toledo) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Martin Breunig (203-92, college: Montana) chipped in 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international Karim Jallow (198-97) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard James Robinson (191-94, college: Pittsburgh) added 13 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Five EWE Baskets and four Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EWE Baskets will meet at home ALBA Berlin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Braunschweig will play against BG Goettingen and hope to win that game.
