Regular Season Round 3: Aris - Iraklis 81-75

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Thessaloniki: Aris (#8) and Iraklis (#4). Aris (1-1) won against visiting Iraklis (1-1) 81-75. Iraklis was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 20-9 charge of Aris, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Quenton DeCosey (196-93, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Ioannis Kouzeloglou (204-95) contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Vasilis Kavvadas (205-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Canadian guard Olivier Hanlan (193-93, college: Boston Coll., agency: Wasserman) added 19 points in the effort for Iraklis. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aris will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Iraklis will play on the road against Ionikos Nikaias (#12) to get more than just one victory in their record.
