There was no surprise in Manizales where 7th ranked Storm (5-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Sabios (7-5) 89-83 on Tuesday. American guard John Merchant (187-89, college: Dowling) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Jovonni Shuler (198-87, college: SSU) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Shuler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (205-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and Dominican forward Juan-Miguel Suero (196-93) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Storm players scored in double figures. Sabios have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Storm at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Condores.
