Korisliiga top team - Seagulls (7-0) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Lahti (4-3) in Helsinki 87-74. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 49-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Seagulls outrebounded Lahti 46-33 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Kendale McCullum (194-96, college: Lewis, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Timo Heinonen (198-81, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Seagulls players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Wayne McCullough (195-94, college: CCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Brandon Peel (201-94, college: CCSU) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lahti. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seagulls have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Lahti at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Vilpas. Seagulls are looking forward to face KTP Basket (#4) in Kotka in the next round. Lahti will play at home against Kobrat and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
