Very expected game when 7th ranked Vilpas (4-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Nokia (6-2) 84-66. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Nokia's pressure prevailed and they won that period 31-18 extending their advantage to 18 points. American guard Daeshon Francis (193-96, college: UTPB) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Wes Washpun (185-93, college: N.Iowa) accounted for 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American power forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agency: Inception Sports) came up with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Elias Eerikinharju (187-96, college: Santa Fe CC) added 9 points respectively for Vilpas in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Nokia. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Pyrinto. Defending champion Vilpas keeps the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Kataja. Nokia will play against Kauhajoki (#4) on the road in the next round. Vilpas will play against Kouvot and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
