Regular Season Round 7: Diablos - Centauros 78-70

Another upset was a game between Centauros (4-2) and Diablos (2-5), which took place in Caracas. 4th placed Centauros lost to eleventh ranked Diablos in a road game 70-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Centauros. They outrebounded Centauros 46-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. Diablos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Angelo Cisneros (198-97) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Leinfer Montes (192-94) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Michael Flores (192-85) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Centauros players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diablos maintains eleventh place with 2-5 record. Centauros at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. Diablos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Broncos.
