Regular Season Round 5: FoKoPo - Pyrinto Ak.B 102-78

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked FoKoPo (4-2) crushed bottom-ranked Pyrinto Ak.B (0-6) in Forssa 102-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by FoKoPo. Pyrinto Ak.B was better in fourth quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FoKoPo forced 19 Pyrinto Ak.B turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Pyrinto Ak.B's players. American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: SHU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Gokul Natesan (196-94, college: Colorado Mines, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. FoKoPo's coach Antti Joutsimo felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Mikko Nurmi (202-98) answered with 9 points and 17 rebounds and Spanish Christian Schalk added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Pyrinto Ak.B. Five FoKoPo and four Pyrinto Ak.B players scored in double figures. FoKoPo moved-up to fourth place in 1st Division. Loser Pyrinto Ak.B still closes the standings with six games lost. FoKoPo will face Ura Basket II (#9) in Kaarina in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Pyrinto Ak.B will play on the road against Team Pajulahti (#13) in Lahti and hopes to get finally their first victory.
