There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Kyoto H. (3-11) beat on the road 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (5-9) 84-74 on Saturday. Kyoto H. made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game, while Shiga L-Stars only scored four points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kyoto H. maintains ninth position with 3-11 record, which they share with Hokkaido L. and Yokohama BC.
