An interesting game took place in Ostrow Wlkp., where 4th placed BM Slam Stal (8-5) lost at home to tenth ranked Enea Astoria (6-7) 78-86 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BM Slam Stal. Enea Astoria looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Corey Sanders (188-97, college: Rutgers) stepped up and scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Bosnian center Markus Loncar (211-96) chipped in 15 points and 13 rebounds. Four Enea Astoria players scored in double figures. Enea Astoria's coach Artur Gronek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Jakub Garbacz (197-94) responded with 30 points and Croatian center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Enea Astoria moved-up to ninth place. Loser BM Slam Stal dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Enea Astoria will meet at home higher ranked Start (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BM Slam Stal will play against the league's second-placed Zastal Enea BC having rather not much hope for a victory.
