Regular Season Round 12: Gunma - Kagawa FA 85-69

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gunma as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gunma defeated 8th ranked Kagawa FA at home 85-69. Gunma forced 21 Kagawa FA turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Kagawa FA helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) who added 15 points and 10 assists during the contest. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunma (10-2) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Saga B. Kagawa FA at the other side keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Kagawa FA will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Gunma will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Kagawa FA in Takamatsu.
