Regular Season Round 7: Alpo - Ponzano 63-74

Ponzano can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Verona, where they defeated Alpo (2-4) 74-63 on Saturday. Ponzano made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Federica Iannucci (171-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her thirteen free throws !!!). Point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ponzano players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Anastasia Conte (174-0, agency: LBM Management) responded with 22 points and point guard Sofia Vespignani (168-96) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ponzano (1-6) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place in A2. Loser Alpo keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. Ponzano will meet Carugate (#14) in the next round. Alpo will play against Albino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
