Regular Season Round 5: Mataro - Quart 81-78

A very interesting game took place in Mataro. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Quart (1-1) to leader Mataro (2-0) 81-78 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in Group C4. Mataro players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Forward Jordi Juanola (196-98) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and American power forward Amir Warnock (206-95, college: KWC) accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Xavier Costa (192-84) came up with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Jordi Bataller (193-86) added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals respectively for Quart in the defeat. Four Quart players scored in double figures. Quart's coach Carles Ribot rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mataro keeps a position of Group C4 leader, which they share with Mollet. Quart at the other side keeps the third place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
