The game in Tokyo supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Diamond Dolphins (9-7) played at the court of 6th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (8-7). Diamond Dolphins smashed Hitachi Sunrockers 78-54 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hitachi Sunrockers' players. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) contributed with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) answered with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) added 2 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Diamond Dolphins maintains third place with 9-7 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi B. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Kyoto H. (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Yokohama BC and hope to win that game.
