There was an upset when second-ranked Solares (2-2) was defeated at home by leader Mondragon (2-0) 94-82 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was swingman Andoni Acha (195-99) who scored 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Point guard Daniel Lorenzo (181-93) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Diego Garcia (192-0) produced 26 points and 6 rebounds and American-British center Kaj-Bjorn Sherman (213-92, college: UTSA) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Solares players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mondragon keeps a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with Zarautz. Loser Solares dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
