Regular Season Round 5: Ura Basket II - Kipina 99-82

First defeat of league's leader Kipina (5-1) against tenth ranked Ura Basket II (3-3) 99-82 was the most important game of the last round. The game was mostly controlled by Ura Basket II. Kipina managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ura Basket II dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Kipina's 44. They outrebounded Kipina 54-29 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ura Basket II looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Sami Mantymaa (193-88) answered with 32 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Anton Gill (191-94, college: Nebraska, agency: Green Sports Management) added 26 points and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Kipina. Ura Basket II moved-up to ninth place in 1st Division. Newly promoted Kipina dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kristika Turku. Kipina will play next round against JyWe trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ura Basket II will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked FoKoPo in Forssa.
