Bottom-ranked Gomel is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Olimpia (4-2) 88-42 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Olimpia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gomel to just 6 points in second quarter. Olimpia held Gomel to an opponent 21.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Olimpia forced 29 Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 54-36 including 21 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Katsiaryna Karpuk (185-99) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Yana Goliakova (183-1) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Guard Maryna Rakauskaya-Minkevich (173-92) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and forward Anna Hatskevich (180-92) added 5 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Gomel in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia moved-up to third place. Loser Gomel still closes the standings with six games lost. Olimpia will meet at home Gorizont 2 (#6) in the next round. Gomel will play against the league's second-placed Tsmoki-Minsk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
