Regular Season Round 9: Bucaneros - Condores 73-67

Bottom-ranked Condores (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-67 loss to eighth ranked Bucaneros (5-4) in La Guaira on Tuesday evening. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Bucaneros forced 22 Condores turnovers. The former international swingman Cesar Garcia (193-90, agency: Pro Sports) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Jovanni Diaz (203-90) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Peter Kvietek (205-77) with 7 points and 14 rebounds and guard Anthony Hernandez (178-96) scored 15 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Condores' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bucaneros moved-up to seventh place. Condores at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost.
