Regular Season Round 2: Cerrado - Bauru 81-83

A very close game took place in Brasilia (derby !!!) between Paschoalotto/Bauru and Cerrado. Paschoalotto/Bauru got a very close victory on the road over Cerrado. Paschoalotto/Bauru managed to escape with a 2-point win 83-81 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Paschoalotto/Bauru dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Cerrado's 36. The best player for the winners was American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Alex Garcia (190-80) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. American JC Fuller (194-94, college: W.Illinois, agency: Slash Sports) produced 27 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Paulo Da-Costa (193-94) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Paschoalotto/Bauru and four Cerrado players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Paschoalotto/Bauru will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cerrado will play against Caxias do Sul and hope to win that game.
