Eleventh-ranked Araski (3-6) gave a tough game to leader Valencia (11-0) in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Thursday. The visitors from Valencia managed to secure only three-point victory 60-57. However their fans expected much easier game. Valencia had a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for international point guard Cristina Ouvina (173-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. International center Laura Gil (190-92) helped adding 7 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Laura Quevedo (185-96, college: Miami, FL) responded with 16 points and Mozambican forward Tamara Seda (193-94, college: UTEP) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Valencia have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Avenida. Araski at the other side keeps the eleventh place with six games lost. Valencia is looking forward to face Zamarat (#13) in Zamora in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Araski will play on the road against Socinsa Bembibre and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
