Regular Season Round 11: Zamarat - Clarinos 99-84

An interesting game took place in Zamora where 4th placed Clarinos (7-3) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Zamarat (2-8) 99-84 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Clarinos. Zamarat dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Clarinos' 36 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Clarinos 35-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Zamarat especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward Amy Okonkwo (188-96, college: TCU) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Her fellow American import power forward Abbie Wolf (193-98, college: Northwestern) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-96, college: Temple) responded with 31 points and Portuguese-Serbian guard Jovana Nogic (185-97, college: Providence) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zamarat moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Clarinos keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Zamarat will face league's second-placed Valencia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Clarinos will play against the league's leader Perfumerias Avenida and will have a slim chance for a victory.
