Everything could happen in Carballo at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Xiria and one of their biggest challengers Betanzos had identical 1-1 record. This time Xiria used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Betanzos 78-73 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group A-C. Argentinian point guard Bruno Pallotti (182-98) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Martin Bello (195-97) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Guillermo Pereiro (191-89) with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Daniel Martin (187-97) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Betanzos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Xiria (2-1) moved-up to second place in Group A-C. Loser Betanzos dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Xiria will face Culleredo (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
