Regular Season Round 9: Young Angels - Samorin 68-64

An interesting game for Young Angels (7-2) which hosted in Kosice 4th placed Samorin (5-4). Second ranked Young Angels managed to get a 4-point victory 68-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Samorin. Young Angels made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Samorin 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Young Angels brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The former international center Anna Jurcenkova (195-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and center Denisa Blanarova (186-97) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. Young Angels' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was international point guard Laura Horvatova (165-97) with 29 points and the former international guard Timea Sujova (172-84) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Young Angels maintains second place with 7-2 record having just one point less than leader Piestanske C. Samorin at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Young Angels will play against SKP 08 BB (#6) in Banska Bystrica in the next round. Samorin will play at home against SK UMB BB and hopes to get back on the winning track.
