Plasencia made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for American forward Stacia Robertson (188-92, college: High Point) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws). Cameroonian-American swingman Tia Weledji (178-96, college: Princeton) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Weledji is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Slovakian forward Tereza Sedlakova (180-97, college: Florida Tech, agency: Promo Sport ID) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Patricia Vicente (176-98) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cortegada. Five Cortegada players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Plasencia. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Almeria. Loser Cortegada dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Plasencia will face higher ranked GDKO Bizkaia (#3) in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cortegada will play on the road against Adareva (#9) in Laguna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
