Not a big story in a game in Caracas where 12th ranked Brillantes (1-9) were defeated by eighth ranked Broncos (5-5) 66-54. Broncos forced 19 Brillantes turnovers and outrebounded them 50-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for international point guard Garly Sojo (196-99) who led the winners and scored 9 points and 16 rebounds. The former international forward Junior Martinez (200-92) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Neill Ojeda (190-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Juan Caraballo (190-99) added 10 points respectively for Brillantes in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Broncos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Gladiadores. Brillantes lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Broncos will play against Cangrejeros (#11) in Maturin in the next round. Brillantes will play against Supersonicos to get more than just one victory in their record.
