Regular Season Round 9: Ostrow Mazow. - AZS UW 77-88

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked AZS UW (3-5) beat 4th placed Ostrow Mazow. (5-3) in Ostrow Mazowiecki 88-77 on Saturday. AZS UW made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Ostrow Mazow. turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Filip Munyama (188-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Hubert Stopierzynski (183-97) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four AZS UW players scored in double figures. Ukrainian point guard Aleksander Szczerbatiuk (179-96) answered with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Przemyslaw Sloniewski (193-94) added 5 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Ostrow Mazow.Ostrow Mazow.'s coach Grzegorz Helcbergiel rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. AZS UW moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with MKS Ochota. Loser Ostrow Mazow. keeps the fourth position with three games lost. AZS UW will face Pabianice (#12) at home in the next round. Ostrow Mazow. will play against Isetia (#13) in Warszawa and hope to win that game.
